Solid Edge ST10: Shaping the Future of Product Development
Bringing Product Development to a higher level, Siemens alongside their Silver Partner in the Philippines, CIM Technologies, launched Solid Edge ST10 last September 21, 2017 at Bellevue Hotel, Alabang.
More than 30 companies from the country's manufacturing companies were present on the event.
Engr. Wilson Hernandez and Engr. Mark Mendoza of CIM Technologies conducted the technical presentations on the new features and enhancements for Solid Edge ST10- from new capabilities for generative design, reverse engineering, synchronous modelling , creating sheet metals and assemblies, drafting, data management and a lot more.
To get to know all CIM' manufacturing solutions, there were solutions booth around the event area for all the participants to explore- 3D Printing booth for product prototyping, TeamCenter Rapid Start for Product Data Management, Stanford IT Learning , the Training Division of CIM, also an Authorized Training Partner of Siemens, DELL the official sponsor of all the reliable workstations that were used for the technical presentations, test drive and speed design competition, Test Drive Booth for hands-on experience of the newest capabilities of Solid Edge ST10 and the "Solid Edge Design Show" , an exhibit of all the rendered designs from Solid Edge submitted by some of CIM Technologies' clients.
To hear the benefits and advantages of using Solid Edge in developing their products from the users themselves, CIM Technologies invited Mr. Mark Sueno, AMMO Manager, of one of its known clients, ARMSCOR, the leading manufacturer of firearms in the country to share the greatest features of Solid Edge that helped them in crafting the best firearms and ammunitions.
Technical Presentation
Another testimonial was delivered by Cho Sung Hum, the Team Leader of PUP Hygears, the team representing the Polytechnic University of the Philippines to the yearly Shell Eco-Marathon. By using Solid Edge in designing their race car, they were able to reach 4th Place on the Diesel Category, four times higher than their previous ranking.
The afternoon ended with the Speed Design competition. It was divided into three levels, from easiest to the hardest. All the new features of Solid Edge ST10 were applied on each level.
Speed Design Competition
All levels were time constrained, and winning the last level was ARMSCOR, finishing the last speed design challenge in just 1 min and 11 secs. beating Malaysia's winning time, 1 min. 24 secs.
